North America: the latest product news for the region

Clients can explore the best of North America at their own pace on one of Trafalgar’s At Leisure itineraries, which are new to America and Canada in 2012, following the program’s success in Europe. They will enjoy longer stays, no starts before 9am and more free time for personal exploration during trips, including on the seven-day Canada’s Rockies and eight-day San Francisco and Wine Country Delights.

Meanwhile, Insight Vacations has expanded its upmarket Gold tours to the US and Canada in its recently released brochure, following the positive reception of the product which began in Europe this year. The program features five Gold tours, two of which have been upgraded from Insight’s regular style of touring. These are the 13-day and 20-day Grand Canadian Rockies and Alaska Cruise and the eight-day Cities of the East Coast. Hotels have been upgraded to include the Fairmont in Washington, D.C and the Waldorf Astoria in New York while the GoldLeaf service on the Rocky Mountaineer train is also featured.

Elsewhere, Amtrak passengers and the general public can now ask questions about Amtrak rail services using Facebook and Twitter, and have those questions answered by various experts within the company. The first in a series of videos answering consumers’ questions was recently posted on the Amtrak YouTube channel as part of the company’s new Ask Our Expert program.

Further afield, DriveAway Holidays is offering a wide range of self-drive products for both Canada and the US, including motorhome rental, for which special offers include free upgrades, no one-way fees, free kitchen kits and discounted rates.
