Europe and the UK: major relaunch for Trafalgar


Clients who book an escorted tour naturally want to tick off all the major sightseeing highlights, however they increasingly desire room to move during their jam-packed itineraries. Trafalgar has done its research and made some major enhancements as part of a major rebrand, which includes doubling its number of At Leisure tours and expanding its range of Be My Guest product.

“Significant changes have been made in response to market research which found three barriers to people going on an escorted tour; these included packing and unpacking, early starts and feeling like a tourist,” managing director Matthew Cameron-Smith said.

“In direct response, new destinations and experiences with Trafalgar are on offer in 2012 with the launch of nine new First Class itineraries spanning Europe, Britain and the Eastern Mediterranean and including five new At Leisure itineraries following the program’s successful launch in 2011,” he said. There are 15 new At Leisure itineraries that have been introduced for 2012, bringing the total to 28.

New First Class At Leisure itineraries include the eight-day Scenic Ireland, nine-day Alpine France and Switzerland and 10-day Spanish Island Serenade. “For 2012, Trafalgar has also expanded its exclusive Be My Guest dining inclusions and has sought out a greater number of authentic, private venues to enable more travellers to go off-the-beaten-track and dine as a local, with locals,” Cameron-Smith said.
